Bundles your customers already buy, proven against a holdout.

Crux finds the products your customers already buy together in your order history and turns them into offers you approve. It then tests each offer against shoppers who never see it.

Every offer gets a verdict.

Crux compares revenue per visitor between the shoppers who see an offer and the holdout who do not, and runs a significance test on the difference. When product costs are set, it also reports incremental profit.

  • Collecting proof Not enough data yet. The offer keeps running.
  • Working The offer group earns more revenue per visitor than the holdout. Keep it.
  • Not helping No real lift. Crux pauses the offer on its own.

How crux works

  1. Finds pairs in your order history

Crux reads your past orders and ranks the products people buy together by estimated profit.

  2. Turns the best ones into offers you approve

A margin floor, 20% by default, blocks discounts that cut too deep. Nothing goes live until you approve it.

  3. Tests each offer against a holdout group

A block on the product page shows the offer. Crux reports incremental revenue, and profit when product costs are set, and pauses offers that are not helping.

80/20 split by default. Each shopper stays in the same group for the whole test.

Questions

What data does crux read?

Orders from the last 365 days and your products, including cost per item. Crux does not store customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.

How is the holdout chosen?

Each visitor is placed in a group by a stable hash, 80% offer and 20% holdout by default, so the same shopper always sees the same thing during a test.

Does it work with my theme?

The offer is a theme app block, so it works with Online Store 2.0 themes. You add it in the theme editor.

What happens to my data on uninstall?

Crux deletes your access tokens when you uninstall. When Shopify sends its shop redact request, crux deletes all data stored for your store.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Starter is free with one running experiment, and crux is free on development stores.
